Let’s begin with our 20 budget-friendly cruise gifts under $20!

1. Towel Clips

These handy towel clips are such a fun cruise accessory.  You can go all out and find an option that fits your gift recipient’s personality.  My husband has Corona bottles. I have flip-flops, and our daughter has the adorable dolphins.

Recommended: Boca Towel Clips  (So many cute options-  Amazon link)

Recommended: This space-saving option or these very easy-to-pack towel bands

2. Reusable Straws

Speaking of sweet sea turtles, the cruiser on your list needs a set of reusable straws.  Most cruise lines have switched to paper straws, which certainly have mixed reviews.  Skip the single-use straw and opt for these great reusable ones, perfect for travel!

Recommended:  reusable straws (Amazon Link)

3. Luggage tags

When cruisers talk about luggage tags, they typically refer to the room assignment/luggage tags provided by the cruise line.  These tags tell porters and cruise line employees which stateroom your luggage should be delivered to. Since the cruise lines just provide tags that can be printed on standard paper, a covering can be very important.  One of our cruise Facebook Group members commented that the tags saved her on a very rainy embarkation day when many other cruisers had wet/damaged tags. Luggage tags can vary in size by cruise line, so it’s important to order one that is appropriate for that line.  Here are a couple of examples.

Recommended: Royal Caribbean Luggage Tags (Also appropriate for Celebrity Cruise Line – Amazon Link)

Recommended:  Carnival Luggage Tags (Also appropriate for Princess, Holland America, and more – Amazon Link)

4. A Beautiful Wrap

This is a thoughtful gift for any cruiser.  Women can always use a beautiful, soft wrap. It is so handy for those chilly nights onboard the cruise, whether she is out on the deck, in the air-conditioned dining room, or in the theatre. Both elegant and practical, you can’t go wrong with this budget-friendly cruise gift.

Recommended: Pashmina Scarf (Check out all of the available colors – Amazon Link)

I recently added this Turkish towel to my full holiday gift guide, and I love that I can use it as a quick-dry towel or a wrap.

5. Reusable Cruise Cup

I am a HUGE fan of reusable cups while traveling, and there are so many great cruise-themed reusable cups to choose from.  What a great way to say Happy Holidays and Happy Cruising with one of these awesome budget-friendly cruise gifts.

Recommended: Personalized Tumbler (Amazon Link) Or this fun and personalized option on Etsy.com

6. Beach Drink Holder

These drink holders are so fun!  You can use them to hold your phone, your beer… anything you want to keep handy but sand-free.  The bottom has a convenient bottle opener.  Perfect for a day at the beach!

7. Cruise-themed Coffee Mug

Is this true for your cruise fan? It is for me! This coffee mug is a perfect budget-friendly cruise gift for any cruise-lover on your shopping list.

Recommended: Cruise Addiction Mug (Amazon Link)

8. Cruise T-Shirt

What better way to get excited about your upcoming cruise than getting a cruise-themed t-shirt!  Sailing with family?  Consider getting group shirts made or shop the great options on etsy.com or Amazon.

Recommended:  Cruise t-shirt – (Amazon Link)

9. Packing Cubes

Packing cubes are wonderful for cruising.  They help travelers pack by category, by outfit, and can even help you easily redistribute weight in a busy airport if needed.  You can also unzip the packing cubes and place them directly in hotel drawers or cruise closet shelves to stay organized throughout the vacation.

Grab a favorite color to keep the entire family organized.

  Recommended: Amazon Essentials (Amazon Link)

10. Super Strong Magnets

Most cruise ship walls are metal so cruisers can use these hooks to create a great grab-and-go section in their stateroom. These hooks will hold hats, lanyards, beach/pool towels, and more! You can even use them for holding a customizable cruise itinerary from my travel printable page.

Recommended: Super Strong Magnetic Hooks (I have used these for years! Amazon Link – Pro tip, hang items from the ceiling for a stronger hold)

11. Cruise Lanyard

Lanyards have been a staple in the cruise community for years.  There are so many great designs to choose from, too!  Considering that many cruise lines are switching to ultra mag strips and are becoming less likely to hole-punch a cruise card, I recommend opting for one with a pouch or card sleeve.

This zipper pouch option is a popular choice for your budget-friendly cruise gifts:

Recommended: Women’s Lanyard or Men may prefer something more basic like this one. (Amazon Links)

12. Packable Backpack

One of my personal favorites!  Each member of our family has their own, which we use for our port days.  Available at a great price, it’s lightweight, easy to pack, and comes in a ton of great colors.

Which color would you choose?

Recommended: Venture Pal 35L Ultralight Lightweight Packable Foldable Travel Camping Hiking Outdoor Sports Backpack Daypack (Amazon Link)

If you prefer a tote, I love this flip-flop beach/pool bag. It has so many pockets and it’s waterproof!

13. Backup Battery

A backup battery for your cell phone can be important for those long days in port and makes a great gift for all types of travel. It’s true that most cruisers need to keep their phones in airplane mode throughout the cruise, but cell phones are now used more for cameras than for calls.

Recommended: Portable Charger (Amazon Link – tons of reviews!)

14. Reef safe sunscreen

It’s critically important to protect our ecosystem and your skin. If you’d like more information on reef-safe sunscreen you can read a detailed review here.

Recommended – Alba is very effective as well as Tropic Sport (Amazon Links). My personal favorite is reef-friendly Sun Bum

15. Cruise Approved Power Strip

It’s a well-known cruise complaint that there are very few outlets in a cruise stateroom.  For years, cruisers would bring a power strip from home, but most cruise lines have banned any standard power strip.  Cruise lines can be very specific about outlet devices and do not allow surge-protected ones.  My opinion is to skip the “power strip” and bring a multi-point charging cable and a multiport USB/USB-C hub.

Recommended: Multi charging cable, Multi USB and USB-C charging block (Amazon Link)

16. Travel-Friendly Corkscrew

Many cruise lines allow you to bring wine or champagne on board during embarkation day.  Cruise line policies vary, so check this post for details.  Don’t forget to get one for yourself…or gift an easy-to-use travel corkscrew for your cruise fan.

Recommended: TSA Compliant Corkscrew (Amazon Link)

17. Stay Dry Phone Pouch

Very important!  Enjoy that beach day or stay poolside and keep your phone, money, and cruise card safe, dry, and with you!

Recommended: Waterproof Phone Pouch (Great reviews!  Amazon Link)

18. Dry bag

Perfect for the cruiser who loves adventure excursions! A dry bag can protect their change of clothes, phone, camera, and more!

19. Poo Pourri

You may feel a little strange gifting a bottle of Poo Pouri, but so many people love it! Go for it! Especially when you gift one that’s cruise-themed. 😉

Recommended: Ship Happens Poo Pouri (Amazon Link)

20. Water Shoes

A great gift idea for anyone set to enjoy a water park with hot concrete, an adventure excursion, or even a rocky beach.  Water shoes help protect feet from sharp rocks, hot concrete, and more.

Recommended:  Men’s or Women’s Water Shoes (Amazon Link)
